New Projects announced for Sandy Beach

Rocky Point continues to receive interest from big time developers, as it is quickly becoming a desired vacation destination. Two major builders are eyeing Puerto Penasco, commonly known as Rocky Point, for a new project. They have announced plans for a 1.2 billion dollar project within the Sandy Beach Resorts master planned community along the Sea of Cortez.

The two groups are big players in the industry. The first being Grupo Questro, they are the largest developer in Los Cabos. Here is a link to the Grupo Questro website, http://www.questro.com.mx/inicioeng.htm Grupo Questro has announced plans to team with Grupo SBR, which has already built over 1,500 units on Sandy Beach. The project is known as the Joint Venture, it is a 630 acre project which will include 900 Rocky Point beachfront condos, two 300 room hotels, and an 18 hole golf course and resort containing another 1000 condos and 1000 homes. Currently, there is only one Rocky Point Golf Course along Sandy Beach at the Las Palomas resort. Marketing Director of Sandy Beach Resorts Almer Elzink says, "(Puerto Penasco) really taking off. It's the fastest growing tourist destination in Mexico, and what we’re doing here is constructing a master planned community that will really be a complete city."

The fact that a well-recognized Cabo San Lucas developer is looking to build along Sandy Beach speaks volumes for the growth seen in Rocky Point as of late. As we continue to receive more information on the project we will update our news section to reflect the status of the project.
